چکیده

The paper is concerned with a problem of finding an optimum experimental design for discriminating between two rival multiresponse models. The criterion of optimality we use is based on the sum of squares of deviations between the models, and picks up the design points for which the divergence is maximum. An important part of our criterion is an additional vector of experimental conditions, which may affect the design. In the paper we give the necessary conditions for the design and the additional parameters of the experiment to be optimum, we present the algorithm for the numerical optimization procedure and show the relevance of these methods to dynamic systems, especially to chemical kinetic models.

Bayesian Optimum Design Criterion for Multi Models Discrimination

The problem of obtaining the optimum design, which is able to discriminate between several rival models has been considered in this paper. We give an optimality-criterion, using a Bayesian approach. This is an extension of the Bayesian KL-optimality to more than two models. A modification is made to deal with nested models. The proposed Bayesian optimality criterion is a weighted average, where...

Performance Evaluation of Dynamic Modulus Predictive Models for Asphalt Mixtures

Dynamic modulus characterizes the viscoelastic behavior of asphalt materials and is the most important input parameter for design and rehabilitation of flexible pavements using Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). Laboratory determination of dynamic modulus is very expensive and time consuming. To overcome this challenge, several predictive models were developed to determine dyn...

Efficient Optimum Design of Steructures With Reqency Response Consteraint Using High Quality Approximation

An efficient technique is presented for optimum design of structures with both natural frequency and complex frequency response constraints. The main ideals to reduce the number of dynamic analysis by introducing high quality approximation. Eigenvalues are approximated using the Rayleigh quotient. Eigenvectors are also approximated for the evaluation of eigenvalues and frequency responses. A tw...

A Semi-Infinite Programming based algorithm for determining T-optimum designs for model discrimination

T-optimum designs for model discrimination are notoriously difficult to find because of the computational difficulty involved in solving an optimization problem that involves two layers of optimization. Only a handful of analytical T-optimal designs are available for the simplest problems; the rest in the literature are found using specialized numerical procedures for a specific problem. We pro...
